Despite being most definitely white collar I consider myself working class and it is something I am very proud of being because for me it comes with the badge of being a person with a strong work ethic.
Many of my friends consider this to be a major hang up of mine, a source of resentment and even excuse for my failures and occasional laziness.
In recent years unfortunately the working class identity has almost come to be represented by Chavs and Dole types.
